Our friends from Cipriano Palmer Photography produced a stunning wedding style shoot, featured earlier this summer on the inspiring Bridal Musings blog. The shoot focused on the colour blue, and while Anouk Jewelry loves working with coloured gem stones and has several blue sapphire treasures in our collection, this time we were happy to highlight the Bohemian Halo Mandala diamond ring – our unique take on the Mandala ring, which pairs gorgeously with the blue tones.

Says the stylist: “The colour blue has had a strong connection to weddings for a very long time. For many it represents love, purity and fidelity and was used to ward off the evil eye. The tradition was to wear a blue garter on your wedding day. We were inspired by this connection and wanted to incorporate beautiful shades of blue in our styled shoot. To us, the colour blue brings a feeling of calmness and peacefulness to a wedding day. There are so many ways to incorporate the colour blue into your wedding day, from a beautiful pair of shoes, to a sprinkling of blue in a bouquet.”

What a playful style shoot we were part of earlier this year! The soft coloured images were recently published on Vineyard Bride and we’re happy to share this beautiful wedding day inspiration.

Says the photographer, Jess Imrie: “Inspired by the Pantone colour of the year we wanted to create a coral themed shoot that was fun, fresh and flirty. When we came across the Niagara on the lake courthouse and saw the pink room, we knew we had to do a monochromatic pink colour scheme! This shoot was really playful, full of florals and girly details that we hope inspires brides to incorporate more pink into their day. We wanted to showcase that you can really never have too much pink while remaining elegant and fresh for a wedding day.”

Anouk Jewelry’s Vintage Sapphire Rosetta ring was recently featured on the Vineyard Bride blog and we simply can’t get enough of this beautiful feature! the lovely Lucy Tran captured the soft, romantic style perfectly.

“We stuck to shades of off-white and blush to compliment our lush green surroundings and used pops of apricot and mauve to add a modern vibe to this wedding inspiration. The table looked so romantic with the orchard in the distance, and featured a creamy oatmeal linen, blush chiffon runner and rattan back chairs which provided a natural addition to the scenery. The bride’s style looked elegant and effortless.
The invitation suite by Pink Peony Press featured raw edge paper with elegant calligraphy and stuck to the natural colour combination of off-white, blush and green. The weather held out and we achieved a timeless and classic look with some surprise glam and modern elements.”

Says Katie: “For this editorial, part of the Katie Nicolle Photography Studio Series, we were inspired by the warmth and beauty of a neutral color palette. The team set tones of blush, caramel, and cream against the backdrop of an urban studio and allowed the details to bring warmth to the space. Our bride (was) dressed in intricately detailed gown and finished the look with whimsical floral crowns that paired perfectly with natural hair and makeup… The impactful floral backdrop set the scene for the portraits, adding incredible visual interest to the studio space. The tablescape was designed to be perfectly understated, with a pop of color provided by the florals and taper candles. Our stationery set was beautiful, yet minimalist and enhanced by a velvet styling mat and unique accessories. We hope this editorial provides future brides inspiration for a minimal, yet whimsical day!”

The lovely Vineyard Bride blog recently featured one of our most opulent vintage-inspired designs, the unique Champagne Diamond Cluster ring, paired with one of our most beloved Mens wedding bands, the Seashore Band.
Both rings were part of Katie Nicolle’s Fine Art Photography workshop at the incredible Graydon Hall Manor in Toronto. Says the blog, “With styling by Vivian Lyttle Events, the workshop was inspired by European estate homes and all things romantic.

Using a palette of cream, gold, blush and yellow as well as lush textures of lace and velvet, the editorial brought Europe to life in the heart of Toronto. The bride was dressed like royalty in two gowns by Claire Pettibone and adorned with crowns and veils by Noon on the Moon, as well as a gorgeous antique-inspired ring by Anouk Jewelry.”

When our friends at BlUUMBLVD suggested we team up for a bridal style photo shoot to be published at Joy Wed, we knew just the design to showcase! We are proud to introduce this gorgeous Vintage Rosetta ring, set in 14k white gold and featuring a striking blue moissanite surrounded by a halo of diamonds.

From Stephanie of BLUUMBLVD: “This shoot was to celebrate the strength but also the vulnerability of a woman’s love. With an all female team, everyone joined together and collaborated to the spirit of this project. We fell in love with this venue at the Great Hall! The light took over the room and the white walls were a blank canvas that enabled us to create a feel that was both romantic and timeless. All of the details of this shoot were influenced by the Old World, a handwritten letter to a love and a sketch of where they were to be married brought us to that time and place. The unique and airy two-piece gown by My Wood Nymph, moved with such ease and elegance, you couldn’t help but stop and stare. The light and airy fabrics of the tablespace perfectly complemented the heavy drapery of our hand painted backdrop. The custom designed cakes were decorated with weightless wafers that added a whimsical feel. This was to inspire couples and show that much is not needed for a beautiful event, and that minimal details can really make a grand statement!”

Using a moissanite as a central stone in your ring means making an environmentally ethical choice. As they’re man-made, moissanites don’t require mining and though they don’t come from the earth, they are none-the-less beautiful and durable gemstones. Their colours are versatile and they are more affordable than diamonds.

It’s not every day we are lucky enough to design an engagement ring and a set of wedding bands for our friends. A few months ago, Anouk Jewelry had the pleasure of creating a gorgeous Peach Sapphire Vintage Rosetta ring with a matching Spring Leaves band and the Organic Mens band in rose gold for a very special couple.

Deanne MacRae is one of our favourite wedding photographers and we were honoured to create the rose gold set of rings for her and her groom’s special day.

Often couples choose to coordinate their wedding bands. While Anouk Jewelry offers several matching wedding band sets, such as the Fine Sand set, the Moonlight set or the Timeless set, sometimes simply coordinating the band colour does the trick!

A meeting in person is a great opportunity to share our design philosophy, and learn about the couple’s taste and preferences. Our friends from Bridal Hair Collective highlighted a special bridal style shoot, featuring one of our more unique designs, the Raw Rosecut Pear Diamond Halo ring. We are thrilled with this romantic setting for our nature-inspired jewelry!

Staged in the Victorian Great Hall in Toronto, with its floor to ceiling bay windows and crisp white walls, the room was a limitless backdrop for this styled shoot. The model’s flowing hair and dress recall the fashion of the Romantic Era, with our rings the perfect accessories to evoke the timeless elegance of the eighteen hundreds.

The Rosecut Pear Diamond Halo features a one of a kind dark multicoloured diamond and can be worn either as an alternative engagement ring, a right hand piece, or a bohemian style signature ring. Inspired by nature’s geological splendour and the craftsmanship of Classical times, this raw diamond piece looks like a found treasure that connects the wearer not only to the earth’s textures and colours, but to the opulent ancient times as well.

Anouk Jewelry has always been fascinated with raw diamonds. This dark yet classic colour palette is such a perfect fit for the end of summer! Our friends from 100 Layer Cake featured this beautiful style shoot from the talented team of June Bloom Events and we simply love the outcome. Says Joanne: “We dreamt of a seamless blend of Dutch botanicals and a historic setting, all integrated with a dark and moody colour palette. We wanted old world and non-tradition to meet. So we met, drew inspiration from each other’s creative gifts and produced wedding inspiration for the couple willing to step out of the box and flaunt their authentic loving selves all while keeping things edgy, classic and mysterious.”

We love this moody style and sombre hues which serve as an elegant backdrop to our oval Blue Sapphire Ornate Halo engagement ring. Paired with our Nikki Pebble wedding band, the rings make a unique and unforgettable set, perfect for an alternative bride.

The cherry blossom orchard at the Estates of Sunnybrook’s McLean House was a magical location for this pink-filled day, and we’re excited to share all the beautiful images with you from Samantha Ong Photography” continues Wedding Chicks.

Last month Wedding Chicks, one of our favourite wedding blogs, published a truly unconventional style inspiration story, celebrating brides who like to stay true to their own unique style. Anouk Jewelry was happy to provide a gorgeous free-form Montana Sapphire halo ring to go with a non-traditional blue wedding gown for the photo shoot.

Late Summer Vibrant Outdoor Wedding Style

Recently Anouk Jewelry teamed up with the talented Tamara Lockwood, taking part in an elegant styled outdoor photoshoot. The beautiful results of this inspired collaboration were featured in Wedluxe last month. Celebrating the last sunny days of late summer, we simply can’t get enough of the vibrant colours of this lovely wedding inspiration.

The bright colours of the tablescape flowers complement nicely the bride’s warm-tone yellow gold rings. Three of Anouk’s signature rings are playfully stacked together. As most our designs are stackable, we encourage the brides to experiment with different styles and combinations, discovering that original look that’s uniquely their own.

The star of the show is our classic Rustic Canadian Diamond Cushion Halo engagement ring with an alternative twist of Seashore texture. It boasts a rosecut diamond mined locally in Canada, and a halo of accent diamonds, artistically set in 14k hammered yellow gold.

Recently Anouk Jewelry collaborated with the lovely Valerie Tesoro on a vibrantly coloured bridal photoshoot, featured on Wedluxe blog this summer.

“Inspired by the exquisite Spanish architecture of Hacienda Sarria, this lush styled shoot is bursting with deep burgundy accents, regal gold details, and fresh fruit and florals. Between the stunning floral arrangements interspersed with greenery, the luxe red linens, and divine dessert table, you’ll feel like you’re wandering through a Valencian vineyard!” gushes the blog. We couldn’t agree more!

The three designs showcased in this gorgeous style shoot are our Mountain Star wedding band; Seashore Mens band and the star of the show – Ornate Halo Ring. We love to participate in originally themed bridal style shoots, and when the photographer Sara Monika suggested the idea of a magical Cosmos-themed night style session, we got really excited! The result of this truly inspirational collaboration was featured on Ruffled blog earlier this spring. As the blog puts it, “this story blends the best of two worlds, giving us inspiration for not only woodland weddings, but beach weddings as well! The creative team integrated moody hues and cosmic energy for a shoot that’s utterly magical from head to toe.”

A shoot filled with cosmic tones, which are warmed up in the presence of love + light, all working together simultaneously to create a mysterious yet comforting atmosphere… With an incredible group of people, we were able to put together this Cosmic Inspired Wedding Styled Shoot… The rings which are handmade by Anouk Jewelry signify the beauty in our imperfect universe since each ring is made to be imperfect on purpose, just as love + life is. Spring is around the corner and after months of cold weather, all we want is some sunshine.

What better occasion to reminisce of the beach! Today we’re thinking back to this glorious boho-glam beach elopement shoot by the lovely Anastasia of Olive Photography! This inspiration was featured on the Green Wedding Shoes blog last summer. “Annie of Madison & Ella Inc. styled this editorial with the warm, rich golden colors of the sun and sand in mind, creating the perfect intimate ceremony and tablescape for two. The premise behind her vision was all about two wildly in love people who wanted to be married on the beach, just the two of them, celebrating their love under the sun. So they jump in their Volkswagen Mini Bus and drive to the coast to get hitched under a teepee with their vows printed on canvas and adorned with macrame accents. Pretty much a dream, don’t you think? Let’s see the beauty come to life in Olive Photography‘s captures below!” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!

Partnered once again with the supremely talented Katie Nicolle, Anouk Jewelry is thrilled to be featured on the ever so stylish blog of Magnolia Rouge. “When Katie Nicolle Photography visited Italy last year she knew she simply had to use the opportunity to create a beautiful bridal shoot” says the publication. The stunning venue of The Villa Borghese provided an incredible outlook over the Eternal City and the perfect backdrop for this styled photoshoot.

Our elaborate Bohemian Halo (Mandala) ring looks exquisite in the Roman setting. In the spirit of Through-back-Thursday, today we are reminiscing about the dreamy Style Me Pretty feature of Anouk Jewelry. The peach-and-gold themed styled shoot was captured by the talented Whitney Heard of Whitney Heard Photography, and featured no less than three of our designs!

As Style Me Pretty put it, “A fresh approach to a beachside romance, this locally styled shoot featured a stunning backdrop, a romantic fishtail braid, and plenty of gorgeous gold accents, this inspiration a la Whitney Heard Photography was peachy-hued perfection”.

Adds Whitney …The Scarborough Bluffs on the edge of Toronto were the stunning backdrop for this lakeside shoot. We love the combination of the fishtail braid, flowing dresses, and gold accents, which will bring a little warmth to any spring wedding. We took a fresh new approach to the blush colour palette by adding hints of peach and gold. This inspiration shoot is perfect for the fun loving bride, who wants to shine on her wedding day!

The bride wore our Peach Sapphire Halo ring, designed in 14k rose gold and features a deep peach sapphire centre stone, accentuated by a halo of a dozen sparkling diamonds. Anouk Jewelry participated in an original photoshoot, featured on this month’s popular bridal Vale & Vine blog. Curated and captured by Deanne MacRae of Deanne MacRae Photography, this country barn wedding inspiration shoot highlighted a bright and airy wedding style. The barn choice is perfect for a daytime wedding ceremony or reception with plenty of natural light, while also offering a shelter from the elements. It’s always a pleasure working with inspired photographers, and they don’t come more talented than the lovely Lora Vertue of Kissed by Light! We recently collaborated on a stunning photoshoot for our upcoming lookbook (stay tuned!). Lora and her team interviewed Anouk designer Anat Kaplan for their online blog, as part of our recurring series of interviews featuring female artists, The Power of Her, and we’re excited to share the interview here as well.

Please tell us about your jewelry and unique style that defines your current designs.

I create fine jewelry inspired by nature and the ancient world. The bohemian and rustic look of my creations is achieved by hand carving, which results in highly sculptural and textured designs. I love working in all shades of gold, incorporating natural gemstones, especially raw diamonds and green sapphires.

What are your sources of inspiration?

I draw inspiration from the organic elements, especially water, its colours, flow and shimmer, and the textures that compliment it, like sand and rocks. I’d like my pieces to echo the raw beauty of nature, and to evoke that serene feeling of timelessness.

How did you decide to become a jewelry artist, tell us about your background?

I come from visual arts background; I fell in love with ancient jewellery during my university years studying art history. I took a course on ancient Greece and Rome and they showed us some jewellery pieces that blew me away. These treasures had so much character and personality, they really spoke to me. Still today ancient jewellery is endless source of inspiration.

Who are your clients, what kind of people come to you?

My clients are those who look for something different than the traditional wedding jewelry. They are often nature lovers, or creative folk, who appreciate local, artisanal pieces.

Often people come to me in search of a unique piece that would reflect their personality and those are my favourite clients to work with. Together we translate their story into gems and metals, creating a one of a kind, bespoke piece of jewelry.

Please tell us about your recent collection.

My most recent collection is the Golden Leafs line, it was born in anticipation of spring after a long winter, and it’s all about growth, renewal and awakening.

How did you feel about working with KBL’s Lora Vertue on the recent photoshoot?

Shooting with Lora is always a big treat for me. I’ve worked with many photographers, but Lora’s impeccable style, great attention to detail and professionalism truly stand out.

But most of all, she’s a true artist with a unique creative vision and an amazing talent for capturing beauty. I can’t wait to work with her again!

Vintage Engagement Ring in a Historic Wedding Story

Our custom version of a Vintage Rosetta Ring was featured on The Wedding Co‘s blog earlier this summer in a story by the lovely Phoebe Lo of Helloinspira photography.

The inspiration for the photoshoot came from the location itself, the prestigious St. George Golf and Country Club. “The formal dining hall is transformed with a rustic design that features an organic style, fresh centerpiece accentuating the deep mahogany harvest table. This rustic display is presented with details and accents in the colour theme of ivory, grey and blue,” explains Phoebe Lo.

The styled photoshoot by the talented Julia Park Photography and Cinema focused on “the bohemian spring elements, with a display inspired by the organic fluidity of poetry with a touch of elegance and luxury. The subtle interplay between soft textiles and delicate metals, further suggested by the fine array of artisan dyed linens and silk ribbon, all blend beautifully into a splendid palette of rose, gold and silver.”
